This interactive map of the United States highlights the concentration of low-income taxpayers by county. LITCs can use the map to help strategically plan the services they deliver. By visualizing the relationship between low-income taxpayer populations and IRS compliance activity, LITCs can also more effectively tailor their services to the areas of greatest need. Potential LITC applicants may use the map to see where there are high concentrations of low-income and LEP individuals with limited access to LITCs. Zoom in and click to see the following additional information for each county:
- LITC/Count of LITCs – Name of the LITC or count of the LITCs providing service in a county
- Total Population – 2020 Census Population (CT uses 2024 data for planning regions)
- Low-Income Taxpayers – Estimate of Tax Year 2024 returns filed with AGI below 250% of the Federal Poverty Level
- Compliance Actions – Estimate of low-income taxpayers with a compliance action in 2024
