Activity 1: Track the progress of an Integrated Action Tool programming change that will properly calculate the Collection Statue Expiration Date and correct erroneous accounts.

Activity 2: Identify and address the impact of the pandemic on our work processes, including case receipts from the IRS including exploring new ways to address our Account Management System (AMS) inventory ensuring taxpayer cases are loaded on to the Taxpayer Advocate Management Information System (TAMIS) quickly.

Activity 1: The IAT project continues through the Pilot phase, identifying and remediating calculation defects. A deployment date has not yet been specified.

1st Quarter Actions Completed

The Integrated Automation Technologies (IAT) Collection Statute Expiration Date (CSED) Calculator project team is scheduled to release Phase 1 of the tool in the second quarter for pilot testing. Phase 1 includes streamlined calculations, while the team continues programming to incorporate more complex calculations for future phased releases.

TAS completed activity 2, implementing case processing changes. Training was developed and delivered, guidance was published, and the new process was implemented on October 7, 2024. The streamlined process resulted in reduced case intake processing time and eliminated the backlog of cases awaiting intake.

2nd  Quarter Actions Completed

The Collection Statue Expiration Date (CSED) Calculator developed by Integrated Automation Technologies (IAT) entered pilot testing in January. The timing of deployment to production will depend on resolution of bugs found in testing. TAS completed activity 2 in Quarter 1, implementing case processing changes. Training was developed and delivered, guidance was published, and the new process was implemented on October 7, 2024. The streamlined process resulted in reduced case intake processing time and eliminated the backlog of cases awaiting intake.

3rd Quarter Actions Completed

PHX will launch on 7/21 for case advocacy. All open case data from TAMIS will be migrated on 8/3 and users in TAMIS will be placed in a “Read-Only” status.
